UNN Denies Issuing Best Graduate Cheque Of N10,000

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka has denied claims of issuing best graduating student the sum of Ten Thousand Naira [N10,00] which is currently trending online.

According to the University Management the picture and the award it depicts, which has been trending in the social media, has nothing to do with the University of Nigeria as an institution.

This is a case of members of students’ association honouring one of their own with the token they could afford. The name of the association – University of Nigeria Medical Students Association – is written on the dummy cheque.

The University of Nigeria has a tradition of rewarding its best graduating students at the Award and Prize Night usually held at the eve of its convocations.

The awards are presented by the Vice-Chancellor not by a student as depicted in the picture.
The general public are advised to read the content of the dummy cheque very well before making their comments and comparisons.
